Okay, so, I have a secret. I am very bad about eating my vegetables. I can’t remember when I last ate a salad, and I am very guilty of pushing green beans around my plate, on many an occasion. At 26, you would think that I would have realized that vegetables are good for me and I should infuse it in my diet as much as possible. I think I’m just generally against the idea of classic vegetables on my plate, sometimes.
But, I still try to get some vegetable intake in my life. How? By making green smoothies! Why eat a spinach salad when I can drink it, mixed with my favorites fruits and stuff? It’s extremely easy, I have a very simple formula for it (recipe below). Recently, I received a sample of Kiss Me Organics Matcha Green Tea powder. All the great benefits of green tea, in powder form. (Energy and metabolism boost, can I ask for more?!)
Now, when making green smoothies, I have to have some kind of liquid, so I figured, why not give my smoothies a boost of energy with the Matcha powder? Results? Best idea everrrrr. I’m in a constant need of caffeine in the mornings, it’s what makes me a better person in the AM. I even made them into ice cubes (mixed with milk) so I can have them mixed up and ready to go.
Yum. Way yum.
The Laziest Green Smoothie with Kiss Me Organics Matcha Powder
2 handfuls of your favorite green (I typically use organic spinach)
1-2 cups of your favorite frozen fruit, or a fresh fruit as needed
2 cubes of Kiss Me Organics* Matcha Green Tea powder/milk mix
Banana or avocado, for thickening
Honey, to taste
Blend all ingredients. Add water if too thick.
For the cubes:
1/4 cup hot water
1 tsp Kiss Me Organics* Matcha Green tea powder
3/4 cup milk
So I basically made the Green tea latte provided by Kiss Me Organics (they include a e-cookbook with the order!)
Mix powder with hot water, then mix with warm milk. Pour in ice tray and freeze.
