It’s fairly easy to see that I love pink, but my lipstick collection touches just about every corner of the rainbow. So, naturally, National Lipstick Day is like Christmas in July! This is the perfect time to stock up on that brand you’ve been eyeing, likely with a deal. Here are the 5 lippies I usually reach for. All of these brands deliver in terms of color and all-day wear.

Flamingo Acid by Fenty Beauty ($18.00)

I actually walked in Sephora with no intentions to give Robyn Fenty my money. But I was doing a free Fenty makeover, and I had asked Jehovah to guide my wallet — and they put the color on me and I fell in love. The electric pink Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle plush lipstick is one of the few colors I feel confident wearing without lip liner, but sometimes I wear a darker liner to give it that ombre look that I love.

Ruby Woo by MAC ($18.50)

“Every girl should have a red lipstick. And that red lipstick should be Ruby Woo.” – a wise person (me) Described on their website as a “very matte vivid blue-red”, I am always amazed how it looks different, yet beautiful across so many skin shades. I wear it without a liner when I want to feel extra sexy and bold, and or with a brown liner when I want to remove my foot from my haters’ necks and give them a breather.

Pencil Me In by Colourpop ($6.00)

Colourpop is one of my favorite brands when it comes to well-priced lipstick with all day wear. While I have a spectrum of colors, I especially have a penchant for their dark red, moody colors. Pencil Me In is a “oxblood red” that is a comfortable, matte feel without all the dryness.

Sista Girl by Magnolia ($16.00)

For years, I have been on a search for a beautiful purple lip. After I saw one of my favorite bloggers wear Sista Girl on IG, I immediately went to Magnolia to order one for myself. While it comes in liquid form, the color is very pigmented and it doesn’t feel too dry. Even better, they are a black-owned makeup company based in New Orleans.

PMS by Fenty Beauty ($18.00)

I didn’t mean to have Fenty on here twice, but I needed to. PMS is described as a “moody brown” Mademoiselle lip and is perfect for days that I want to wear a lip to complete a simple look. It is among the small range of colors I like to call a “me nude” though it is slightly darker than my skin.

In addition to chapstick, these are the 5 lipsticks that I carry around daily in my limited-space makeup bag. I’d love to knows yours!
